Have you ever driven one in a civic? An H22 has boatloads of usable torque compared to a k20, and considering it costs half as much (if not less), I think its a damn fine option. Its definitely not the best platform for building, but if you just want something stock, cheap and fast, it's the bee's knees

Research up before hand, and the swap can be done in a weekend. After you've done it once or twice, it can actually be done in a day

Well i went throught the forum and i can see that we have alots of DIY project. That look very useful and will come handy. I took a visits at the swapping forum and there isn't much there. I should start with b16 engine for now as a beginner. I'm waiting to see if the hoist will goes on sale. That will help removing an engine..

You can usually rent an engine hoist for pretty cheap (maybe $30 for a weekend).

B16 is a perfectly good motor, but you might get bored with it after a while (I did h: ). If you can afford it, I'd try and get a b18c as a starting point. That way you'll have a little more power to keep you satisfied for the time being, and more potential when you want to start modding it down the road.

I prefer to buy one rather to rent it because there isn't one in my area that does that. I want to own one so it can help me with alots of stuff. UHmm, you saying that the b16 is not a fast performance engine? I will check for price and see. Is the b18c expensive than b 16? I don't know as yet.

B16A is definitely a fun little engine. It has 160ish horsepower and a 8200 redline, the only problem is it has very little torque, so if you want to go fast you have to drive it really hard (really high rpms). The b18c has more torque and 180ish hp and generally costs about $1000 USD more than the b16a. If that doesn't fit your budget, no worries... you'll still have fun with a b16a

UHmm, I like to buy good stuff and not too cheap and i will look into that. 160 Hp is slow so i would get something a bit better to satisfy my need. Right now, I'm looking for civic because i don't have one right now. This will be a project vehicle for swapping, and audio systems. I might get either 5 or 6th generation...

That was my point. I really like H22s. I'd buy one before I'd buy a k20. I-VTEC sucks compared to normal VTEC. My 02 Accord has I-VTEC and you can't even feel any of the extra power you usually get from VTEC.
