Default Still waiting on my rotors

Got an email the other day from The Tire Rack, they STILL have my Brembo rotors on b/o, they have 1 in stock (gee I thought they were sold in pairs) :crazyr: They said at least 2 more weeks before they get 'em, then they ship to me. What are they doing at Brembo, waiting for more recycled mopeds to crash and burn and get crushed and melted down to make more castings? hreally:

Whatever. Meanwhile, I've got other dirty jobs to take care of. My oil pan gasket has had a leak for quite awhile, so I'm probably going to get that over with while waiting for the rotors. Need to find somebody to let me use a lift. Hate the idea of doing it on jackstands on my back eating oil. And first I gotta borrow an impact to knock the exhaust "A" pipe nuts loose, it's gotta come off to drop the pan.

After that's over with, and the brakes are finally done, tackle replacing the outer tie rod ends, along with the rack boots. And if that's not enuff, I need a new left CV axle (boot's torn).

I found a great place for the axles, no reground Chinese crap :cat:! Check out:
http://www.raxles.com/

Lifetime warranty. $129.99 + $9.99 shipping w/free return of core axle.

So you can see I'll soon be gettin' greased again. But it'll be nice to be caught up on long overdue maintenance stuff I've been puttin' off!

Napa axles run $50 with a lifetime warranty. You may actually need to use that warranty though

in my opinion, go with a local parts store. sure axles from the other place may be nicer, but nothing beats driving 5 mins down the road, slap the old axle on the counter and walk out with a new one.
you getit off the net, your gonna have to ship back the old one, wait god knows how long then maybe youll get a replacement axel in the mail.
atleast at a parts store you can start screaming and making a huge ruckus. trust me, it works i used to work at a parts store and as soon as a customer gets pissed you pretty much have to bend over backwards for them.
autozone is like 60 bux
advance auto is like 50
and i cant remember napa's
i obliterated 6 axels once in a single summer and i just went to three
different advance stores to swap them out.
it maybe a limited lifetime warranty, you just gotta know how to play the system

That's what I don't wanna do. Heard stories about those. I want to put them in 1 time and forget about them. There's a reason the box store axles are so cheap. Also, when they are re-ground, the case-hardening is removed, exposing fresh metal, and in a short time they'll be clunking again. I like to spend most of my time driving, not fixing stuff.

Josh (aka westcoaststyle) ran napa axles on his 400+hp sedan and seemed happy enough. I don't know if he ever broke one... he never posts anymore

Sounds solid if they can take a beating from that kind of torque . I just heard good things about Raxles so far. Free return shipping provided for the core, and they don't make you pay a core charge. Yeah, a bit more $$, but all new internals instead of rebuilt sounds like a better chance of long-term survival. And they're lifetime.

Default Found some Brembo rotors finally

I finally got tired of waiting for Tire Rack to get anything from Brembo's warehouse, so they got cancelled :nec:.
A Google search found the same Brembo plain blanks at http://www.car-stuff.com/carparts/ho...-16095801.html for $36.95 each - $5 coupon code READY4SUMMER = $68.90, free UPS shipping. Saved $11.60 and at least 2-3 weeks if I'd waited for Tire Rack.
