my eg6 has a d16z6 when i push the car near to 6000-7000 rpm it gets stuck to 5000 rpm but my vtec is working....sumtyms my needle goes to 6000rpm then goes down.....whats my issues....i have issues with my clutch releasing bearing i think...dats wat the mechanic told me....is it the clutch or sumthing else.....

 

uhh, that sounds odd.either its electrical or your clutch could be slipping really bad i suppose.
im guessing you dont have a video of this, but it would really help. diagnosing a prob like this is difficult from an armchair

I dunno. Personally I don't think it's the clutch. . . don't sound like it. Sounds too consistent. Plus if it slipped you'd know. . Or I would think so. . .

 

ya a clutch slipping....you would definately know. maybe that cluster is just trash. get another one and try it out. If your vtec is working then i bet its the tach in the cluster thats bad.

yeah my vtec is working...its just the tach.....cuz when i push the car i wouldnt know if im reaching the red ....scared to blow up an engine.....thnx anyways....ill try to change my tach guage.....

 

same thing happened with my civic. my tach crapped out and bought another cluster from my buddys junkyard and worked great. Also while i was there i changed the bulbs to red l.e.d.s to match the red stereo and red car. Came out looking sick
