Default 93 hatch service manual

I noticed that on my owner's service manual there's a indication for the mechanic "lubricate chasis". What exactly would a mechanic be doing when lubricating the chasis? I haven't done it since I've gotten my car, 5 years. I've also noticed "lubricate chasis" when we get my girlfriend's Accord back on the maintanance list that they give us....

Does anybody know what exactly the mechanics at Honda do when lubricating the chasis?

Thanks guys!!!

I've been checking around other forums and net sites, and noticed that a lot of peeps are seeing that the dealer adds this to your service manual because they want you to feel like you're getting tons of stuff when you do your service. and regarding chasis lubrication, it's sealed so you can't get to it or it doesn't apply to your car. Best thing to do is ask your mechanic or ask the Honda dealer representative what exactly lubricating the chasis is....

If anybody finds out anything, please let me know. Thanks!!!

In most cases they lube the bushings with newer grease. If you don't the rubber bushings start to wear out (sort of like sandpaper sandwiched between the sway bar and the bushing). So most of the bushings will get a shot of grease to flush out the old/dirty grease. There's about 30-50 different suspension bushings.

And some will be added to door hinges, locks, tail gate hinges

You could do this yourself you would need some Honda grease and a grease gun. Some of the bushings are very tight and you might need to unbolt or release some pressure by unbolting to get some grease in tight spots.
