Default No Start Probled WEIRD!?!?! Help Please

The car is a 94 Civic Dx

I searched. but nothing came back up with this issue

Yeserday the car dies. I didnt have time to get to it, had to walk to work

Then this morning I was out side trying to start it, and at first it does nothing like a dead battery. okay so I pull key out, put back in, and depress clutch and turn the key and I get this weird loud click noise from inside the cab.
fallow the noise around, and find out its next to the fuse box with a bunch of wires plugged into it... Not sure what it is...

So then I get cables and jump it.... the car fires right up... wtf? like nothing happened... weird. well to me.
So I was like SWEET! car is running, let it run for about half hour, check the battery, alternator with my Volt meter and its saying 14.556 Volts...well alternator is working fine... batter has juice. but when it wouldnt turn on, I checked battery again and it read 6.4V well car needs 9V to start. so I run inside the can, check something. come back out, and battery is reading 12.6V

WTF?

I need to get this shit startened out by tomorrow so if anyone can tell me wtf is goin on, I would love that

Here is a pic of what I am looking at thats making the noise.

Anyone? Anyone at all....

I also failed to mention car has some crappy ass alarm on it.
Previous owner was a fuck up and decided to do everything him self and half ass it. the alarm is a VPS XCL I have never heard of it, but I HIGHLY dought that this is causing my issues due to the car starting when jumped...
also its holding 12.5V when the car is compeletly off. so battery is still good.

I dont know what other info I could give. But I do need the help to get this shit running. as it is my Only DD and work can be pretty far away.

Make sure the ground wire on the battery is clean and tight... I've had a battery read less than a volt, than a full 12+ on the 2nd read. It was due to the surface not being clean, not a good enough contact on the test leads. If the battery really was putting out only 6v and then it changed to 12v moments later, I'd lean towards a connection issue.

Your pic shows the main fuel (PGM-FI) relay. It's supposed to click on startup, around the time the fuel pump primes. Normally (at least in my experience) it's not loud enough that you'd notice it unless you're putting your ear close to it or, perhaps, if you try to crank the car and nothing happens.
Maybe it was getting power sporadically and so was clicking off and on over and over again, causing you to notice it. If that were the case, I'd again lean towards a connection issue at the battery or perhaps the ignition switch.

Since I'm not hearing the clicking the main relay is making, it's hard for me to say whether what it's doing is normal, but it is normal for it to click. In fact that's an indication that it's working correctly. If that relay was preventing the car from starting and/or causing it to die (as a result of no fuel flow from injectors), you'd expect the relay to click fewer times than normal or not at all.

Btw, when you say it died, did it start for a second and then die, or were you actually driving it when it died?

your charging voltage is good but if the cells is your battery are unable to hold and maintain a charge, then it drains easy, your light gets dimmer etc.
however, its unclear on how you described your cars problem. did it cutoff on you while you are driving or is it a parked car and not start problem?

best thing to do is clean your battery and terminal posts and tighten up the connections. then try it again.

Hey A-series Thanks got that Help... I really do appricate it.

Well I got the thing running. turned out that the connectors at the battery were in bad shape. looks good on the out side, but when you take it, it looks like crap. cleaned it and what not and fired up....
Found it by mistake too. I hooked up my volt meter to it, and the little connection helped it start.

Thanks man... Now the car has a flat tire and I need a key to get it off. the previous owner didnt give it to me so now I have to find one like it.

Here is a pic if you guys know where I could find it.

Glad you got it fixed man, glad to help :goodjob:

As for the key, maybe try google or ebay:shrug:

I recall a similar thread here, but no idea if it was the same type of course. Might try searching here too.
