There is a 1984 Civic Hatch with a ZC Motor that is STOCK internally with just an Intake and a FPR that runs a 9 flat in the 1/8 mile. It's been dyno tuned to hell and is owned by a mechanic that works at a shop with the dyno.

That's my idea of a sleeper.

That car is freakin ugly and suprsisingly quick

The lightest stock weight black Civic CRX. The lightest wheels possible [I think Weld makes the lightest, 11.5lbs each]. Gutted interior, paint everything on the inside satin black, black racing seats. Lexan rear window. Bondo the front driver fender. Rust on the rear fenders, carbon fiber hood. Tube chassis and tub the rear. Drop in a fully build Stage II Buick Grand National motor.

Run 7s all-day long.

my definition of a sleeper is something that doesn't look modified, but is fast. by fast i dont mean killing vettes and stuff...just, for example, a 88 crx that beats s2ks or even just gs-r's. that's enough sleeper for me. if someone goes to the dealer and buys a brand new rsx-s and gets their ass handed to them by a crappy looking crx with rust and a b18...THAT is what it's all about.

Hells yes. I'd never expect those to have any more power than stock around here

The only car that ever tried to race my near-stock ass, was a stock looking 2nd gen integra. :dunno: maybe he had a sleeper going.

in my opinion, a sleeper is a car that's faster than it looks to the average shmoe..

a 5g sedan w/ DX badges and no exterior work done w/ a built H22+turbo is my idea of a pretty good sleeper

a riced out civic w/ a huge kit and wing may be a sleeper to us cuz we don't expect it to be fast, but it's not a sleeper to the average bum on the streets cuz he duzn't kno better and thinks it's fast

the opposite of a sleeper would be a show car, i would think
