tire thread...AGAIN :oh:

im looking for an all weather, as in dry/wet. it obviously doesnt snow here. so would the AVIDs still be good? i need them to last a while but i still want grip for going to the track and i dont drive adverage on the street at all. im more aggressive. still good?
I have 205/45/ZR16 Kuhmo 712's on my ride. Nice sidewall profile (protects the rim a little) and fairly quite. They have bad ass traction, too. Cost $108 each at Discount Tire.

I could've probly got them cheaper from my brother-in-law, but I got them with my rims ($90 each :ugh: ), and Discount finances and does balancing/alignment/tire replacement.
Credit will get the best of me, fo sheezy

yeah fawk that, im just gonna jump on the Kumhos 712s for me and my girl. if i can get the AVID cheaper, ill get them for her ride b/c she doesnt drive aggressive at all, unlike myself. im just worried about the 280 treadwear, when i get the new tires im gonna be putting in my camberkit and aligning the car so it should be better than my camber wear now. but im still kinda sceptical. they dont make a 45/hr16 w/ the treadwear of 360 in that size

i like the 711s but on the website they dont make a 205/45/16...if its not there, they dont make em?

If you want to go with the AVIDs they'll be ok but I have a feeling they won't be on par with the Kumhos. When they say all-season, they mean that you can limp around in very light snow. They're not as good as snow tires and not as good as dry performance tires; you're compromising on all levels. BUT, I have no firsthand experience with the AVIDs so you can dismiss what I say.
EDIT: I noticed the AVS ES100 is the same price. I don't know how good they are in the rain, but those don't seem too shabby...
I have 205/45/wr16s on my car over the summer and I love them. They grip much better than the nittos i had previously and are alot more quiet. They also look nice on the car. I got mine for 69 a piece so i'd jump on that. I also had the Avid V4s on my taurus SHO and they were great. They weren't the best handling tires out but they lasted long, were quiet, and were excellent in the rain. For my winter wheels I got some Kumho ecstas that aren't the 712's(don't remeber the number off the top of my head). They were 29 bucks a piece for 14s and have a H rating, so far they are pretty kick ass for how cheap they were.
