this is just on a stock motor...block guard, thicker head gasket, basic t3/t4 setup and a hondata 2b....

but speaking of lawnmower engines...some dude with a t/a got his goped to be faster than his 12 second LS1 car. I think it was a chainsaw motor on nitrous....i saw the vid, it was sick.

If you boost the SOHC, most of the parts would swap over to a B series engine if and wehn you do swap. All you'd need is a new manifold.

assuming your turbo will bolt up to the new manifold....for instance if i tried to move my apex turbo onto some random b series manifold i doubt it would bolt up correctly.

You'd need a adapter plate for the manifold. Just cut off the old one and weld on the new one.

That's why you would use a T3-based turbine fromt he get go.

When it's time to swap, pick up an InlinePro, RevHard, or Meng T3 manifold and you're set.

ok instead of what is the best why to get power... which method is easiest for the amount of money? i mean building up your enigine would cost the same as swap but you have to do a lot of manual work... right?

If your doing it yourself then I'd say the swap would be easier. Unless your just slapping in the turbo.

I have to get in on this:

Everyone: A sohc vtec turbo is a damn nice car for the money. Well, duh, everyone knows that a DOHC VTEC is better but is it worth throwing out a D16 motor with less than 50K on it? I love Hondas because we ARE the underdogs. You should have seen the guy in his turbo Miata when I passed him. People around here have seen my car run and they like it because they never expected a SOHC to be what it is.

inspyral + Jkan2001: Notice how the guys that say swap have never driven/raced a turbo SOHC VTEC? We know our cars and our cars are tight. If you're like me, then you love beating those DOHC VTEC guys and their big heads. Have you made non-believers into believers? I have and I love it!

Don't worry, Apexi is making a B16 (or was it B18c) turbo kit coming this spring.

Oh, another thing, IHI turbos bolt up to our manifolds. HeHe, Subaru STI's run IHI turbos
