Might want to try and find out how much the tire will expand during high RPM spins (during burnouts esp.) b/c that clearance looks close and that tire WILL expand a lot. Drag slicks are meant to do that and its inevitable (don't forget you have tubes in thurr). Don't wanna take out that bumper and/or fender!

Don't break ANYTHING. That car has to go 420 miles soon (one way). I can't wait to see you guys, or to see that thing run like a scolded dog.

i put 18 pulls on it thursday night, i checked the cold start oil pressure today after work & all was good, so the bearings must still be in good shape after the high temp beatings.

The 25th will be more of a test than anything. I'm gonna run it hard all day & try & get a feel for the slicks against some v8 guys. We'll see how everything goes, then as long as all goes well, i'll be preping the car for a bout a 1000 mile road trip down to Jafro's for the meet.

I've got one clicking axle thats gonna need changed already, it's left over from last year, i'll be bringing extras to the track. We'll see how long it lasts before i snap it!

Biggest problem was getting the car to launch without bogging off the line. I've never driven with slicks before, kinda got it figured out by the end of the day when i realized i had to setup launch control at 7000rpms to get the thing off the line!!

Transmission problems.. it won't engauge a gear when leaving the previous gear anywhere above 8500 rpm's. Not quite sure how to resolve this yet but i'm trying to research it. (this caused me horrible times coz i had to let it rev down a bit to grab the next gear, and when i did get the next gear, i had to build boost again coz it took to long & dropped)

Best trap of the day on the 11psi setting was 110mph, ET's were just ugly.

best 60ft was 1.9, looking for improvement now that i know how high i'm gonna have to launch it.

Also, i'm gonna get rid of these NA cams, & go to a stock GSR cam for now. I'm losing boost up top, and i believe it's due to the overlap.

Gonna try & have everything changed up in time for richmond & then i'll get a little more seat time to mess with the setup.

Also, my freshly rebuilt turbo is smoking & i've been told to change from 10-30synthetic to 5-50 by the turbo rebuilder. I might have to give it a shot, coz i really don't wanna have to drive 8hrs with a smoke cloud behind me.

dude. do not run 5w50. call the builders of the beast and see what they say. fuck the turbo when your messing with an $11k engine. turbos are peanuts compared that thing

Sounds like you learned a lot! My 2¢ about piddly details.

You need less friction in your synchros if you want to shift that high. If your 2/3 shift is still a bit rough at those rpms, it's definitely the gear oil. If you're still running Honda MTF in your tranny, cut it out. You're shifting above 8500 rpms now. Remember that thinner oil = less friction and heat. Heat and gearsets = bad at high rpms. Too much friction or too little, and the synchros work against you. I'd still run the recommended weight of gear oil, but I'd run full-synthetic for the sake of the higher shifts.

I'd use something like BG Synchroshft or GM SynchroMesh. Plain-old Synchroshift is a synthetic blend. Synchroshift II is full-synthetic. You can probably find a BG dealer in your area, but Mach V and RoadRaceEngineering sell their stuff on-line if you can't find anyone.

If your ECU supports no-lift-to-shift, consider enabling it. You'll keep that turbo spooled if your right foot keeps holding the throttle plate wide open and then granny shifting wouldn't matter anymore since the ignition will take care of your shift RPMS, and the tranny will experience less shock. I say this as if I know, but I've never enabled it on mine. Tee hee hee.

Also, check the adjustment on your clutch hydraulics. You need a decent amount of pedal travel for when your clutch fluid is boiling. Maybe even use DOT 4 or 6. I use 4.

I'm glad to hear you running 110. That's what I was running all day on my last trip out. It's sorta hard to beat 1.9 60's if you can be consistent with it because For FWD, that's not so shabby. You'll make it up in 3rd gear.

Here's my 3rd cent... If you quest for 10's, you gotta run an 11 first. ;D

Shit ain't easy. But way to go and I'm glad you didn't break anything. I can't wait to see you guys down here! You're going to stick well on this toasty worn-in track. The weather's been awesome down here lately. Grill's ready to go. I'm lookin' forward to riding some roller coasters, thrashing some go-karts, and all the other rollin' and racing action going on.
