hey guys. I was at the track makin some passes & after one of my passes i noticed low oil pressure. I then switch my tires back over & went home, didn't wanna abuse it any furter. The low oil pressure was due to the increased clearances on my main bearings. I'm just trying to figure out what caused the mains to get squished like this.
Any information is helpful. I can take more pix of stuff if need be.
The center main was the worst.

I'm throwin in a new crank & a fresh set of ACL bearings to resolve this for now, but i really would like to figure out how this happened so that i can make sure it doesn't happen again.

Damn Tony, it was the center last time too. I don't get it. Everything I can come up with the rod bearings should be in bad shape too. Something in me still wonders about oil flow at high rpms. But if that was the case I'd think the rod bearings would look like hell and your pump shouldn't have any trouble keeping up anyway. :/

Maybe you should get the ATI super damper. Maybe you just are getting to much vibration. Hey are you still throwing Alt belts?

align bore FTW!

My ex was too tight and lemmie tell ya, it wasn't as good as you think it'd be. If the crank's too tight and the bearings are right... then it's the bore that's got to change. So I broke up with her.

align bore. for the perfect fit every time.

clearances are way to tight guys. I'm probly gonna have to tear the thing completely down & workout the center point of the main's. I'll update you guys soon.

I was correct on the tightness of the main's, it was out way beyond the acceptable tolorance.

My machineist will be shaving 1-2 thousandts off of the flat point of my main caps which will bring in the center point and then the block will be align bored to correct the issue.

I hope to have the block back next week some time with the new clearances of:

1: .0015
2: .0015
3: .0017
4: .0015
5: .0015
