Default b18a question :(

what sensor is this? i was going to run 2 pcv hoses out of the two spots in the back of the block but its in what i thought was supposed to be one of them...

I don't think that sensor came there originally...never seen that. I don't even know what it would be sensing??? You are correct that plug is an access to the oil drain shaft coming down from the head, there should be no pressurized fluids behind it.

That sensor is not used for obd-1

remove it & run your PCV line there!

Take it out and get us a pic of the other end of the sensor...I suppose it could be someones attempt to add knock sensor to a block.

It just has a long probe, nothing special.. all the obd-0 b18a's have them. I wanna say it's was a temp sensor that wasn't really used, but i can't remember right now.

one more for ya tony...i got an ls head gasket with my lsvtec kit, but i have to bore my block out +.20, what head gasket will i need?

depending on your compression.. if it's 9.5:1 or lower.. technicly you can use the head gasket you have without any issues as the piston will not exceed the deck height. I'd suggest going with a 81.5mm head gasket tho.

you will not need any other sensors on the back of that block to run obd-1.. actually the only one that your even going to utilize is going to the be single pin one (oil pressure sensor), that shows you the idiot light if u lose oil pressure.

yeah cr is 8.9:1 so...if its safe with the one i have i'll use it but if theres any risk i'll get a new one
