the shop with my tranny just called to let me know that the parts that we just replaced, were all chewed up again.

I'm very upset as the parts wern't cheap and i drove my car for about 50 miles of testing without even really getting on it.

they didn't have an explaination on this. they said that they have no idea why it did that......

Damn Tony, that really sucks! Is the shop going to take any responsibility with this? Is everything messed up, or are there salvageable parts?

What did they do exactly? Put in your LSD?

Either someone fucked up the rebuild or some of the new parts were bad. Neither one is your fault and you shouldn't have to pay for it. That's what I hate about some mechanics, they try to charge you for their fuck ups. I'm actually going to attempt a tranny rebuild myself really soon.

well i talked to the shop tonight and he said that there is a bearing in the case cover that was shot, he thinks that the failure is due to the bearin that was worn out & overlooked.
He told me to call him tomarrow morning after 10 because he should have a parts list together. From the way he was talking, he wants me to re-order all the parts that i just ordered a week ago. These parts were honda oem parts and they wouldn't have failed if he would have checked everything before putting this thing back together and closing the case.
I don't have a problem paying for that bearing that goes in the case coz if he would have inspected it correctly i would have paid for that anyways, but i definatly don't think it's right that i should have to pay for all these other parts again (5th / reverse synchro sleeve set & other bearings).
I guess i will have to talk it out with him tomarrow morning. It's definatly not a conversion that i want to have. I really hate this.

if you are gonna OEM syncros from the dealer you have to buy the whole gear set. This is where i bought my rebuild kit when i rebuilt my trans. http://www.standardtransmission.com/ very quick shipping.

I don't know if this may have caused your problem, but I saw this on turbod16.com. Basically with the OBX LSD sometimes the allen bolts are too high which cause rubbing on the differential bearing. This link shows you how to fix it.

I hope you get this figured out soon.
