look running925, the fact is that i don't want an engine without a vtec, as in when it's in my car and said and done the vtec is THERE. Now how bout you tell me something usefull and say something like "oh.. the vtec and boost is a bad combo.."..or.. "a non-vtec works better with a boosted set-up" instead of telling me to research shit i don't need to research.

edit: i took some name-calling out cause i don't need to further the argument.

i'll tell you something useful. vtec is in the head. the blocks are nearly identical but not completely. when built to the hilt it doesnt matter what block you use.

all the vtec components are in the head. what block you use doesnt matter as long as it's a b series. the b18b does have the advantage of the longer stroke crank. and with running925's block already being built you can save lots of time and money having it all done yourself.

My dealer friend (mom's b/f) just bought a 94 integra GSR with a new motor in it. If it's clean n good, i'll take that car since it's only $3.5k, and then i'll work on it by myself and not give it to some shop.

My dealer friend just picked up a 94 integra GSR with a new GSR motor in it, it's cheap and if i sell my car i'd be making money on the deal, so i told the owner of the shop that i am probably switching to the GSR if it turns out right.

Ok so the guy got back to me and to build the GSR motor here's what it will cost/include

CP or Eagle low-comp Pistons~500$
^ turbo Rods~400$
sleeved~1500$
total for motor build~2490$

Turbo(g30 garrett, the other components)~3900$

Install of motor&turbo~ 1100$

Chipped ECU & Tuning ~300$

Total: $7,500...

That's what he told me. and good for ~320hp (NOT WHP)

I'm thinking of going all motor, since it will be a better choice for autoX and the turbo is not NEEDED ..but very wanted heh. Still, that's a shitload of money for that turbo, everything else is reasonable i think, let me know your new input.

btw if i go turbo i get to keep my a/c

lemmie know what you think.

I think your prices are high

Wiseco Pistons - 400
Eagle Rods - 300
Sleeving (not needed for your goals of 320hp)

If you spend 4k on turbo parts and don't have a 10sec car, your a moron

This will net you 450 WHP safly

The reason i was going to sleeve it now (i forgot to mention) is because i'm looking to go for an extreme set-up in around 2-3 years. So i won't have to sleeve it then, i'll just need to get a new ecu, build the head, and add a bigger turbo. But since it's 2-3 years and anything can happen i was debating on getting it sleeved or not. And yes, his turbo is pricey, to pricey but if i get a chance i'll ask him wth is in that turbo. The turbo might net you 450 safely but the block wont, the g30 garrett handles 170-550 http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_700382_3.htm
1489.00$.. let alone other good parts,
i believe for 4k is just for the turbo.

THAT and i would need a d/f ecu like AEM which runs what.. 1200$?
