if its a shop doing the work, expect to pay a little extra. they have overhead to pay for....

just as a comparison, I stopped by a few shops here and asked them about pricing on swaps. for a b18b, they wanted about $3500-$4000 including labor and parts. h22 was in the $5000 range.

If I was you and was able to spend that much money. I would just go and buy a B18c1.

an engine isnt the only thing that makes a car fast. suspension setup and overall driver skill play huge roles.

heh i realize that, that's not the factor in my question =). I'm not going to have a racing suspension but i am buying tein basics, which will be good for DD, and auto-X once a month. Driver skills are good =), will refine at a track though.

The only way to learn is to jump in and do it. Get dirty, call junk yards, yes you're gonna pay prolly $1000-1500 for a used GSR out of a junk yard but then you don't have to ship it. Internals can be expensive but shop around. Join a car club, find someone that enjoys building motors, they generally do it for cheap if not free. Then the rest of the swap info is cake really...turbo kits can be expensive, but part one together. Working on your own car can save you headaches, money and downtime. Check out www.hmotorsonline.com www.RYWIRE.com www.homemadeturbo.com and just search for all possible outcomes before you go spending all that money. You'll thank yourself for it later.
