yep!

i wouldn't run 5w30 on my turbo motor, it gets thin enough going through the hawtness of the turbo!

I'm getting anxious. Tomorrow will most likely be the day I fire it up. I just have to hook up all the wire harness plugs, put the turbo shit back on and fill up on fluids.

Tony, when you say bring it up to 5 or 6k rpms. Should I do that aswell or go higher because my motor can safely go to 8k?

What about priming the motor? Pulling the fuel injection fuse and cranking the motor over a couple times to build oil pressure? Yay or nay?

5 or 6 k will be plenty for the first 30min!

the way i've always thought about it is:

the first 30 seconds of your engine running is when the endges of your rings will get filed to fit the cylinder walls correctly.

your first drive and u reving the motor up & then back down will smooth them out & seal everything up.

Anyone who's ever built a motor understands the anxious yet scared feeling & knows what thats like, you'll be fine. You've taken a lot of steps that others haven't even thought about, when putting this thing together. Just take your time & remember that when u take this thing out for the first time, your not on a sunday drive & your not out racing, your out there to break the engine in. Rev it out, let it rev down & continue this process of varying the rpms.

And I'll show you how much I appreciate all of the help you've given me along the way by walking you down the 1/4 next year.

Well hopefully I won't fuck it up because I'm broke, trailorless, and the closest competent tuner is in Mass. I can street tune it. That's pretty much my only option.

That is a fine option. Just make sure you have adequate PCV ventilation and retard the timing safely this time. My car has been 100% street and self tuned and there are no problems.

I setup my PCV system so it's constantly in vacuum so that shouldn't be an issue. I'm pretty sure my ignition timing was alright when I was boosting on 10.5 compression, now it's 9.1:1. Sure that isn't an excuse to be sloppy, but it gives me that little bigger margin for error.
