the way i've always thought about it is:
the first 30 seconds of your engine running is when the endges of your rings will get filed to fit the cylinder walls correctly.
your first drive and u reving the motor up & then back down will smooth them out & seal everything up.
Anyone who's ever built a motor understands the anxious yet scared feeling & knows what thats like, you'll be fine. You've taken a lot of steps that others haven't even thought about, when putting this thing together. Just take your time & remember that when u take this thing out for the first time, your not on a sunday drive & your not out racing, your out there to break the engine in. Rev it out, let it rev down & continue this process of varying the rpms.
