Default Engine Rebuild

As stated before I blew my engine, I rather rebuild than buying a used d16y8... as I wish to boost in the future...

What would be a sweet combination of Pistons, Rods and Valves? without going unnecessarily expensive. Also what's a good site to get these parts at great deals?

Thats one of the best deals on i found internals, and is what will be going into my motor. Cant offer much advice as far as headwork goes though, as i havent done any research in it.

looking at that link gave me another question to ask... What effect does increasing the cylinder bore size have on performance? Does it harm it or help it?

And does any performance part company offer stock compression pistons? I sure don't want to be driving my car with less compression than stock without being boosted, and I dont want to run higher compression as I will wish to boost later on.

Greater Bore Size > Displacement > HP

So you'll have a D16 but technically it'll be a D18 or whatever if you catch my drift

lol that's pretty cool. All I need is some stock compression (9.6:1) performance pistons if I can find them. does any company offer that? besides Honda

Also if I increase the bore size would I have to change the rod specs as well?

If you got the 9:0:1 pistons from that link the power difference would be barly noticable whilst your NA and youd be set up nicly for boost. Like stated above cylinder bore will effect overall horsepower, most people done bore out the cylinder for the power though, its more to clean up the cylinder to assure the best function possible with the new piston

Thanks I guess I'll get those 9:1 pistons with the high compression valves from skunk2racing... with those two it would be around 9.3:1 or 9.5:1 compression slightly less than stock, I do need to bore the cylinders out to pistons to accept the new pistons and to eliminate all the damage cylinder surface that occured from the valve to piston damage and contact.

How does 9.3:1 compression and increased displacement sound for a future boost set up?

Honda SC7051 D16Y8 75.5mm +0.5mm 9.0 CP PISTONS
Skunk2Racing High Compression Valves adds (0.3-0.5points compression)
Eagle H-Rods
ARP head studs
Cometics Head Gasket

Will I be good to go?
