Honda automatic transmissions aren't shitty... look at CVT, Hondas have good transmissions compared to other cars. It's when you have some guy trying to peel out of neutral to drive on an auto that grinds his tranny to tradgedy. If you drive smart, the tranny shouldn't suffer.

A stock M/T boosting high would experience problems as an auto, so what difference does it really make? my conclusion is both will need to be modded either way... tranny is just your choice and prices are your options.
were not saying you car is shitty bc it's an automatic were just saying you automatic trans is alot more sensitive than a manual. dsm's are turbo from the factory so the auto trans is made to withstand the power generated b/c good old dsm engineers did the work, Honda civics with autos are made to withstand the power generated by their motors designed by the engineers at Honda, i will agree Honda autos are reliable, when driven normally and on the power that was intended to be thrown at them, when you start boosting the trans is going to shit out on you guaranteed. even Honda manual transmission breakdown on turbo applications. so to set you straight like i said earlier how long you auto will last well i couldn't tell you that, a week, month, maybe a year, but it will fail on a boosted application guaranteed!!!!! Then then youll be on this forum asking where you can get another auto trans and asking why we let you boost your auto. but if you want to doit bc your stubborn go ahead and dont say we didnt tell you so!

Alright smart guy your obviusly MUCH smarter then everyone here, so go ahead and boost your automatic. Also, genius, the auto tranny DSM cars used a smaller turbo then then there manual transmission kin, so according to your retarded logic mitsu was putting a smaller turbo on the autos for no reason eh?

I didn't say anything about auto DSM's specifically... I generalized it as DSM's... I know someone with GT3000 VR4, his tranny failed on him sick status. Even some WRX Sti's have weak trannies, they give out slightly upping the boost.

All I'm saying is, no car has a perfect tranny, whether it's auto or manual, each one will have it's problems. A manual tranny stock will last just as long. Both A/T & M/T will need upgrades when boosting.

Ignorance is not being able to come up with proof of your claims. If so many honda autos producing good #'s are having problems, why haven't you guys come up with some evidence, show me for example... a warranty statement from honda that claims a turbo was the cause of a transmission failure. Then I'll believe you. Til then you guys haven't proven a damn thing. Hearsay doesn't work in courts, and it doesn't work here, sorry.

What Honda Auto's are putting up such great numbers? Every automatic honda i have seen/heard even boosted are only running 15's Those are not good numbers.

Just go ahead and boost your engine, Maybe the tranny will withhold the additional power but if it breaks dont come crying here.
This coming from someone who has been running a 55 shot on my automatic civic for 3 years now and my tranny is still fine. so it is possible. but remember nitrous occasionally does not equal the constant abuse of boost.
