Honda automatic transmissions aren't shitty... look at CVT, Hondas have good transmissions compared to other cars. It's when you have some guy trying to peel out of neutral to drive on an auto that grinds his tranny to tradgedy. If you drive smart, the tranny shouldn't suffer.
A stock M/T boosting high would experience problems as an auto, so what difference does it really make? my conclusion is both will need to be modded either way... tranny is just your choice and prices are your options.
were not saying you car is shitty bc it's an automatic were just saying you automatic trans is alot more sensitive than a manual. dsm's are turbo from the factory so the auto trans is made to withstand the power generated b/c good old dsm engineers did the work, Honda civics with autos are made to withstand the power generated by their motors designed by the engineers at Honda, i will agree Honda autos are reliable, when driven normally and on the power that was intended to be thrown at them, when you start boosting the trans is going to shit out on you guaranteed. even Honda manual transmission breakdown on turbo applications. so to set you straight like i said earlier how long you auto will last well i couldn't tell you that, a week, month, maybe a year, but it will fail on a boosted application guaranteed!!!!! Then then youll be on this forum asking where you can get another auto trans and asking why we let you boost your auto. but if you want to doit bc your stubborn go ahead and dont say we didnt tell you so!
