A boosted automatic Honda can and has been done with decent results. They weren't pushing much power, but it is possible and can be reliable with proper transmission upgrades (transmission oil cooler, etc.) and low boost. I know there have been decent results with B-series automatics, but I know that Accords are a bad idea to boost on, and I am not sure whether D-series automatics would be good or bad for much more power than stock. Either way, don't expect anything over 200 whp (reliably) unless you convert the tranny to manual.
thanks for backing it up, at least feel good to have some1 agrees with me. mayb it's time to close this thread.

You can make the automatic stronger where it will last but that's expensive. All I see here is somebody trying to defend other more knowledgable people giving him known advise.Yes known read any import car magazine from the last 10 years and it's always the same thing. The biggest problem with automatics is when they shift they take there time and this slips the clutches, ok on a stock HP car the tranny is calibrated for that. Alot of power slips it even faster producing alot of heat and making the clutches harder to engage. You might be able to get by with letting off the gas just before it shifts but i'm not possitive that will help much. As for the claims of the DSM tranny's the 3000GT VR4 in the 5 speed was always known for 2nd going out. This usually wasn't due to power just abuse. Same with the STI there's plenty of people out there that have high HP number with no problem. The problem with any manual box and high HP is the instand shock on the drivetrain. Slamming gears or launches. It's pretty hard to find any manual that will do fater than 10's even mustangs and camaros. So if you don't beleive any of us use your head, call Level 10 at 973-827-1000 to find out if your tranny can support 30% more torque.
