Default valve adjustment

engine is a B16A2 DOHC in a 2000 civic Si.

What is the intake side set at?

Exhaust side?

I am assuming .007 intake, and .011 exhaust.

Is this correct?

There is a sticker on the underside of the hood that should have the specs on it.

Intake: .0006-.0007"
Exhaust: .007-.008"

(Intake: .15-.19mm)
(Exhaust: .17-.21mm)

hey, you probally know this. but from experience. get the engine to about 80f. loosen and adjust valves (do not tighten the locknuts) let cool completely the torque tighten the nuts. warm engine to 80f again check clearance. I know it sounds so painstaking but ill tell you, you do it like that, you will do it only once, no clapping and no overlift.

All manuals I've ever read say to do this job after overnight cold. I recommend sticking with these instructions.

Default i know

I have done it by the books and seen good dealer mechanics by the cold rule. and when it was all said and done clatter do batter. noisy valve job. 80f is not enough heat to damage a loosening and adjust pattern, but you must wait cooldown to tighten the locknuts.

I agree. Metal expands when it gets hot and when you are dealing with clearances of .007", you don't want any expansion at all or it will be out of spec. Do it when it is bone cold.

Default -+2 margin

is allowed and will not be outside of this. warming causes potential results in a imperfect world (new rockers would be ideal but old ones are going to have different density levels.

My valves still make noise, but less since I adjusted them, is this normal?

In spec depending only on how you adjust them. They allow you that margin of error because it is very difficult to get the adjustment exact based on such miniscule measurements and the way that valves are adjusted (that screw inside nut design). I still stress the importance of a cold valve job.

Yes, it is normal for you to get a bit of noise out of your rockers/valves
