might as well start out with the b18c5...
3200 vs. 5000?

You could buy a brand new Spoon ITR transmission for that and have the 4.785 final drive.

it adds up if u start modding it...

b18c5 is overrated and overpriced. do a b18c1 with minor mods and you'll just be as good.

you can add an lsd and the ITR final drive.

High or low 13s?

This car should run 13's no problem, power isn't the issue. It's traction...if going fast in a straight line as all your after, go for a V8.

On the road a b18c5 hatch will own just about anything out there. I also suggest getting a full Integra suspension to bolt on. You get nice sized brakes, and it handles sooo much better. Look around, you can probably find it for less than a grand. (I did!! )

If you have the cash, then go for a B18C5 or even C1, but honestly a b16a is fine. I got my b16 from k. watanabe for $650. http://www.kwcengine.com/

I have a b16 with some CTR cams and some bolts and this car is plenty quick for me. (sorry no 1/4 times yet)

b18c1 is around 3200 for 172 hp and 127 ft lbs (correct me if i am wrong)
b18c5 is around 5300 avg for 196 hp and not sure the torque.....
for an extra 2000 you should have no problem gettin an LSD and the extra 25 hp/torque and then some...

Hmmmmmmm, you're gonna buy a type-r engine, fabricate it into your civic chassis, buy two headers (i'm assuming you will be keeping 1 as a spare), and getting an exhaust... yet you will only purchase a "drop in" filter for your stock intake?

Actually, I was considering using a drop in filter with my ITBs. The inlet and outlet of the stock airbox are both 3 inches. Figured I'd just use some mandrel pipe in between TWM's airbox and the stock airbox, and drop some pipe into the wheelwell. After some research I found that the stock filter has the precise surface area that K&N says is ideal for a 1.8L engine revving to 8000 RPMs.

So I bought a CX K&N, only to discover that an inch of the pleating on either side of the filter is plastic. Returning it tomorrow.

Other than that, it would work fine.

thats an exageration...
ive seen prices going for 4800...

$1600 difference..
not only itr has the lsd..closer gear ratios...but also better flowing head..
higher compression...

try to get some headwork done..high compression pistons....n lsd...it does add up..
<that is if u do ur own work>

either way...if i were to build a car now..
id go crvtec...
b20b/z could b obtained for 1000...

If I do this swap I might add on the JRSC cause I want don't want to run to much boost but I was wondering do I need to change the pistons out if I use the 11psi pulley? Also would that bump my hatch down to a 12sec?
