I really wouldn't worry about things getting ****ed up with only 1.5 drop.
I have a 1.5 drop and I was using stock struts and they were fine, and I have no camber or wear problems. Get a kit if you can but your car is not going to die if you don't.

I'm lowered 1.5, just had to shim out the back of one side and I was good to go. The rest of the wheels were in spec. You'll have to check your alignment, it can vary case by case, even on Civics with the same drop.

with 7th gen they changed the suspension design, i think (not sure) they no longer use double wishbones.
when my friend got his sportlines installed on his 01 civic they said it was absolutely neccassary to get a camber kit.
juss pointing this out because the newer suspension design mite be affected differently by lowering.
