i've been up for nearly 24 hours now.
I know that posting about illegal activities are generally frowned upon so I didn't want to go too in depth. But yeah I know what you mean with the speed thing. It's just that my 215s are so much better than the stock types which would squeal at legal speeds.

with all the bars and sways i have, i squeel on a 45mph 45degree turn my ass end wips out but my car stays flat as a board.... drifting with a FWD :-), i used to be all about speed, then i got a GSR rear sway and i changed my mind, its soo much nicer to drive a car that can take turns good then one that you have to slow down to 10 on a turn to not loose power on the turn. cheapest way.... do a mini-me swap. you'll have a lil more tq than a Z6 and it doesnt cost much at all.

My tires never squeal...
Of course I keep it legal.

how is speeding through a corner on a public street legal?

I've got the stock motor also and I'm in your shoes too...one upgrade I did was a homemade circle earth grounding kit....it does help but not alot but is insanely cheap...just pm me if you have quesions on how to do it. uuummm, I would work on your igniton and stuff...like distributor and shit...check your timing make sure thats good...adjust your accelerlator cable, remove some weight...like your AC system unless you really need it...umm..i duno..search the internet...I think thats the best...look for alot of DIY, cause those seem to be the cheapest.

yea how do you do that grounding stuff? i put much thought into putting lightweight 14' hx rims. (11 pounds or so). oh my coupes a dx with the sohc non vtec.... so theres no ac or pwr steering. its pretty embrassing when you have a muffler so anyone that sees u in a stoplight races you... and you get your ass whopped... lol

honestly theres alot of things you can do but most will only get you a nominal gain. for instance you could put on an intake, replace header and exhaust, high flow cat, cam gear, under drive pully kit, head swap for an ex head, swap intake manifolds from an ex, internal work, turbo, nitros, jrsc, whatever. As stated the dx motor isnt realy the best platform to be running off of. Obviously you can increase the HP but depending on what your intneded HP goal is you might want to consider a swap to help you along. but since it seems you are on a very low budget Ill be honest. You can get HP with out giving up a little but (alot) of green. BTW in your current situation if you have 5 people in your car passing isnt something you should be trying to do heh.

No money = no hp gain (at least nothing that noticeable).
take that motor out of there and get a b series if you want power.

you can also downshift if you wanna pass someone, like if you're going about 60 or so you can downshift into 3rd and take it all the way up to redline and then you can have some speed there. you can probebly get up to 90 or so in not too much time.

My grounding kit I did was very simple ....all you need are as follow:

- good length of wire....whatever size...from like NAPA or something
- wire cutters/splicers
- a copper terminal
- those like wire hook things...you'll see em the pics and know what I'm
talking about

First unplug your battery and make sure everything is good safety wise. remove the negative terminal and replace it with your new copper one:

now where you can find these copper terminals I dunno...my friend had it so just search around.....anyways...now find some good ground points around your engine bay...cut the wire to desired lengths, As you can see...if you closely follow the wire from the battery you can see my ground points, one of them is on my throttle body/intake manifold area:

now using those yellow hooks I was talking about( look below)...connect the wire to the bolts and the copper terminal:

Its really simple to do and it does help....it improves your battery ( i.e. headlights, interior lights/electronics, electronics all around, start up, etc.)...I also heard it improves your gas mileage and engine but I dunno if thats true.
hopefully this helps some one..I know its shotty instructions but its not hard so enjoi!

Grounding kits really just make up for the power lost by corroding stock ground points. No real gains.

Red and black painted lead battery terminals are availible from wal-mart. That's what I use on my car.
