what the hell are you talkinga bout? alternator, ac, powersteering all have there own seperate drive belt. Hence it not having a serpentine belt.

I guess the real question is what is the motive for wanting to remove it? are you going to sell it to someone or are you doing it for performance reasons? The core inside the ac box under the dash weighs very very little. It might be more of a pain in the ass for you to remove it then youre willing to put forth as it requires the complete removal of the dash in order to take it out. see my recent post about dash swap between 96-98 to 99-00 to see what youd be in for just to remove the ac box. I would suggest just removing lines and compressor if youre just looking for weight savings.

depends on the model year...I got my evaporator out by simply removing the glove box on my 95.

I do want that little bit of less weight and I want more room in my engine compartment. To each his own. If it satisifies people to leave it in then that's yall. I don't need it so I want to remove it. I've pretty much got everything covered about what all needs to be removed and how, so thank you to the people who helped explain the stuff :hugglez:

I removed the condenser and fan, compressor, compressor pulley, ac belt, evaporator core, all associated lines, brackets wires and thingamajigs... Some of the lines were a real pain to get out, but nothing too technical, just a lot of yanking and cursing. You can remove the evaporator core from under the dash, but you must put the plastic case for it back in otherwise your heater wont work either.
