I had an alignment done like 2 days after I lowered my car. I wanted to get readings first to see how bad my camber was. 2 washers in the rear left did the trick. I didn't get an alignment after putting the washers (which I did right after I got my readings) and haven't had any problems.

you can run a taught string around the entire car as close to the midline on the tires as you can get and it will give you pretty accurate, (within a 1/16" or a mm), readings as to how your toe is.

problems like this aren't automatic, they sort of happen over a long period of time. rather than 50,000miles maybe you can only get 45k...but thats still money out of your pocket

1.5 inches on Comptech Sport Springs.

I don't put a lot of mileage on my car. My 98 just went over 27k last week, so losing 5 out of 50k wouldn't really concern me.

I lowered my hatch on nuespeed sports... when we did the alignment my rear camber was just inside spec. And this was after the springs had time to set. Dont know much about the "washer trick". But Ide question its safety over anything?

just to let anyone know that once you lower your car your alignment isn't going to be perfect anyways... cause a alignment machine is set to factory specs. so once you lower your car your out of those specs and the only thing that machine can do is set it back to those factory specs....
just wanted to mention that... so you can take that into consideration also

This is information regarding the bolt trick which Ive done which works perfectly. It does absolutly no harm if done corectly. The main purpose of the bolt trick is to push the upper arm outwards a little using washers and bolts. The long screw is only used to allow reach to the hole when you have the washer/bolts behind. Its not going in any deeper then factory screws if done correctly and if it does then cut it down. If you did jump the car there will be no harm done to the upper arm/screw/bolts. Its perfectly safe. I have 1 bolt with 2 washers on 1 side and 1 bolt with 3washers on the other both having a 45mm screw. It doesnt go any deeper but probably a hair then factory. I trimed both to fit perfect and I have perfect camber with a 2 1/2 drop in the rear.
