you can run a taught string around the entire car as close to the midline on the tires as you can get and it will give you pretty accurate, (within a 1/16" or a mm), readings as to how your toe is.
problems like this aren't automatic, they sort of happen over a long period of time. rather than 50,000miles maybe you can only get 45k...but thats still money out of your pocket
