If you're looking to go NA, CRVTEC is the way to go, imo.

C-Speed Racing has a pretty good How-to. I'd suggest checking that out.

Another good way is to go JDM H22 or JDM B18C Spec R. [prelude type S, and Integra Type R] They both rank at 200+ hp stock at the crank. You can work your way up from there...but it wont be cheap.

I would build and bore a b18c1 (Integra GSR Motor). Should be mre reliable than a CRVTEC.

B18C5 would be my recommendation; anything larger starts to upset the already delicate weight balance. Since you said this is going be to your track car, I'm guessing you would prefer balance over straight-line speed.

Also the S2000 is RWD; civic is FF, so you already have mad problems there.

You stated you want 250 NA hp, is that 250 crank or 250 to the WHEELS? The latta will be nearly impossible (unless you've got mad bling)...but either way you're going to have to trailer the civic...

why dont you do some research in the engine tech forum? oyu waste space with questions like this. and yes, i am the one who will be putting a ITR front end on my civic, not easy, but a lot less headache then trying to suggest an engine for someone else. but if you want my 2 cents, a b16 with a moderate amount of head work and a little building of the block and you'll be fine. If you want to road race, i'd be more interested in a good suspension settup rather then a 200+ horsepower motor.

Usually people with CRV setups will either place a VTEC head on the block or turbocharge them. A stock CRV setup will not get you over the 200+ hp range. The CRVTEC setup is probably your best bet. Although it will require you to find all nessasary parts [CRV longblock, Integra LS intake manifold, axles, shift linkage etc, etc.] Do a lot of research before performing the CRVTEC setup. It is not a easy changeover.
Word.

This engine will yeild much more torque, HP, and reliability than anything these others are recommending.

the H22(prelude engine) will make your car more front heavy.
the B18C1(Integra GSR) gives 170 hp to the fly, and is a good engine, however,

the CRVTEC as it is known, has more displacement, and if you build it up at the same time, you can get 220-240 hp to the wheels NA. It requires a lot of machinework. However if your bore it out, and built it right, then 250 shouldn't be too hard to get.

Those who say B18C5(Type R) are misinformed, Not cost effective at all, and its basically a factory tuned B18C1, for the money even the B18C1 being built up will cost less and be more powerful than the B18C5

as far as the engines go, IE: B18C1 the B is the series of motor, 18 = 1.8 liter C and the Letter refere to the head, and the mapping and interal works of the head.

so the CRV motor is a B20 = b series 2.0 liter
the B16A1 is a b series 1.6 liter engine

however a D16Y6 like found in a typical stock civic, is D series 1.6 liter, parts are NOT interchangable with a B16, or other B series.

make sense?

Sounds like a good idea to me! Just rip out the back seats and throw it in the cargo area:naughty:
