if you're going to boost something, boost a B18B. lower the compression and build the LS motor a bit and it'll handle much more boost than the LS-VTEC and make more power.
thats not true. If you're lowering the compression of a b18b, you're getting aftermarket pistons. If you're getting aftermarket pistons, they make them for lsvtecs at 8.5:1 on up to 14+:1. An lsvtec with the same compression as a b18b will absolutely blow the b18b out of the water. Not only do you have more flexibility in turbo sizing due to the increased redline, but your powerband is much wider, and your motor is capable of moving WAY more air.
cool. are they cleaning everything and checking everything for fitment? I ask because I swapped a "perfect" built head on my B16. it had a slightly bent valve and it broke off and destroyed my #2 piston valves and chamber. kinda sucked, but that was my excuse to build the CR-VTEC. what ECU are you going to use?
