Well I changed both rear calipers and my brakes are still locking up. How can check if my master cylinder and brake booster are working properly? Any help would be appreciated.

this exact thing happened to me, and it turned out is was a bad booster. Did you replace your booster/MC, or are you still using the originals? Do a search in my name, I lamented this disaster a few times on this forum.

Yes I changed the booster to one from an integra and the MC to a 15/16. DId your pedal get real hard when this happened? Is there a difference btw the abs and non-abs boosters? How can I tell. I may go to my local salvage yards and pick a booster to see if that will fix the problem. Thanks.

there isn't really a functional difference between them, but there is a compatibility difference. You have to use a booster from a non-abs car if you're using a non-abs MC, or an abs one with an abs one. It doesn't really matter which you use, as long as the booster and MC match.

As for telling whether your booster is shot, I don't think theres really a test for it other than putting in a new one and seeing if it solves the problem... While you have it out (if you still have your original one sitting around) check the pushrod length on both and make sure its the same length too, that might be the cause of your issue.

And yes, the pedal should feel harder when you swap, but not extremely so.

at this point it sounds like you just need to do some lame slow trouble shooting... checking calipers, swapping MC, etc. Good luck!

I would bet his MC is fine, although it sounds like his booster may have to go.

93civicsedan, you have the non-abs 15/16" MC right? (with both lines on the same side, i.e., you didn't have to do the bend/flare thing) If so, I'd pick up a booster from a 94+ non-abs integra RS and give it a try.

Yes I have the non-abs 15/16" MC. Im gonna go try and find a RS booster in a few minutes hopefully that will fix everything. I think the booster I have now is from a gsr.
