Default Rear Brakes Locking Up

Like the title says my rear brakes keep getting locked up. I recently just upgraded them to disc brakes from a gsr. The car ran fine when I took it around the block a few times for a test. When I turned it on earlier today the rear wheels were wouldnt move. I then loosened the parking cable nut completely and it still was locked. Then I left the car alone for a few hrs and when I came back they were no longer locked. As I took it for a drive again they locked up again on me. Any ideas what could be wrong? What do you guys recommend I check? Thanks.

I was thinking about the cable too. But this seems kind of odd. It's probably something simple that just doesn't happen all that much. Good luck

It's a seized caliper. I had the same problem after doing a rear disc swap. Then I had to replace it, and I got to bleed the brakes all over again.

I guess they build up moisture from sitting, and form rust on the caliper piston. Mine didn't seize until a couple hundred miles after the swap. You can buy a rebuild kit, and rebuilt it if you want to.

well i figured out that the rears only lock up after a few times of pulling on the emergency brake. after a few hours they become unlocked. could that be a seized caliper or something else?

Still sounds like a seized caliper to me. Unless your e-brake cable is too tight, which you've already checked.

how do I go about checking if the master cyclinder and booster are messed up? I noticed that when the rears lock up the brake pedal becomes hard.

As everyone said, I bet its either seized or check your brake lines...
