Actually all those ebay chips would do nothing for my car, except detonate it.

1. I don't have VTEC.
2. I don't know what is on those chips.
*I don't know the ignition timing they have set.
*I don't know what kind of injectors they are using.
*I don't know what fuel pressure they have it set at.

There are many variables. These ebay chip sellers are taking you guys for a ride. In order for your ECU to even read the chip, you need to socket it, jumper it, and add a resistor or two. It's not as easy as "pluging in a chip".

well we are talking about vtec chips. if you want to know the variables ASK, or go online and look at the spoon ecu specs... those are it. i socketed it and jumpered it and add resistos, took me 30min my 1st time. it is easy. uberdata is using a chip, same thing as ebay chips , are uberdata with a spoon program(or any other program) loaded. uberdata is just a program to load a .bin file change it if needed and send it to a programing device. and if you think "ebay chip" speaking that there are over 15 programs on ebay, will detonate your engine, is ludacis, your ecu will adjust it. my friend is rechipping his b20vtec... and he is using my old 15.L CX ecu. and it readjusted itself to work with his 2.0 th eonly diffrence you feel is the no vtec and low redline. go online find the uberdata .bin file for spoon program for d16z6 and open it up see what the settings are, anyone can do that uberdata program is free.

And again. it is easy, and if you think its hard, i live in bmore, send me your ecu with any chip anyone, and i will do it for free and get it back in the mail same day. i wont charge you either.

I didn't understand your post, but what's stopping you from making a custom chip for your specs?

rather spend 25 bucks on a chip that works great i have no complaint, then 10 bucks on blank chips and resistors, and 80+ on a programer.

i got the D16z too. but I'm not looking for a cheap way to get more horses. it seems like a lot of people have some bad things to say about chips. but it also seems like everybody respects spoon stuff. I'd just really like my engine to run more like the JDM
engines do. I wonder how popular the D series are in Japan.......

it doesnt matter if you chip it yourself or what, its the program that matters, dont listent o people put down ebay chips cause they never used them, they are working off of word of mouth. getting a chip off ebay from spoon is the same as gettin his precious uberdata, a programer and a blank chip and loading the program on the chip yourself. jdm diffrence in d16z6 is very slight, with maybe diffrent pistons, JDM is mostly looks until you get to b series, which they will give you more horses IF and ONLY IF you use high octain 91+, the reason a JDM gets more horses is because its made to use higher octaine, so it has a little higher compression and slightly diffrent program, but it wont do you any good getting a jspec motor and use 87-89 octaine

So your motor is basically stock with bolt-ons and you feel that your precious "Spoon" chip just knows everything? With bolt-ons, your factory ecu is sufficient.
