There are many variables. These ebay chip sellers are taking you guys for a ride. In order for your ECU to even read the chip, you need to socket it, jumper it, and add a resistor or two. It's not as easy as "pluging in a chip".
well we are talking about vtec chips. if you want to know the variables ASK, or go online and look at the spoon ecu specs... those are it. i socketed it and jumpered it and add resistos, took me 30min my 1st time. it is easy. uberdata is using a chip, same thing as ebay chips , are uberdata with a spoon program(or any other program) loaded. uberdata is just a program to load a .bin file change it if needed and send it to a programing device. and if you think "ebay chip" speaking that there are over 15 programs on ebay, will detonate your engine, is ludacis, your ecu will adjust it. my friend is rechipping his b20vtec... and he is using my old 15.L CX ecu. and it readjusted itself to work with his 2.0 th eonly diffrence you feel is the no vtec and low redline. go online find the uberdata .bin file for spoon program for d16z6 and open it up see what the settings are, anyone can do that uberdata program is free.

And again. it is easy, and if you think its hard, i live in bmore, send me your ecu with any chip anyone, and i will do it for free and get it back in the mail same day. i wont charge you either.
