I agree on the heat shield assessment. Just get under there with a 10mm and take it off. :dunno:

 

check out your header/exhaust manifold/inline cat. Since you have a y7 under the hood, you might have the same issue I had (cracking near the o2 sensor.)

pop the hood, and check out the header. There's the sensor sticking into right in the middle, but it might be covered by a heatshield. If there's cracking, its usually really thin, and right in the same area as the o2 sensor.

mine would normally make a rattle or metallic sound around 5200rpm's or so. Honda has a warrenty for 95-97s (well, thats actually 96-98, since model year and actual year are a little off), but I've heard about 99-00 d16y7's being covered by this as well. :dunno:
