Default trunk help

Hey you guys here's a question thats gonna make you laugh....I have a 93 del sol, and my trunk latch assembly broke, i do not have trunk release in the cab. I need to get into my trunk. The actual lock mechism is still operable, i can tell because the key works and makes a sound like it's just the linkage. How can i get my trunk open without damaging my truck, and the key hole??? i believe that the 2 twelves in the back rattled the linkage apart. i appreciate all the help you guys offer.

I'm not sure if it's on the Del Sol, but there is usually a key hole or a lever to pull behind the seats, try looking for one...so you can get to your trunk through the back.

sorry to say it but your probly going to end up either breaking the latch or drilling next to the latch & fixing the hole afterwords.. i would take it to dealer & ask their opinion on how to fix problem.. they may have heard of this before...

being that it's a del sol with no passanger side access.. it definatly complicates the problem...

let us all know what happens

Have you checked the Helm's Manual on this? Surely its happened before and has ended up in the manual somewhere. Then again, maybe not. If I were you, I'd try to pull or push on the trunk to break the latch instead of the trunk lid. You might not be able to get that to work, but I'd think a latch would be less expensive than a new lid and painting.

get a locksmith to drill the lock, they have tools to pop the latch once they drill it
