Default should i buy this?

I have a question that i need to figure out. I am getting ready to buy a civic and want to know if its worth 2,500. Its paint is in good shape and the interior has "new" seats. It has professional exhaust and intake but besides modifications thats it. The engine deffinetly needs some work, it burns oil and seems to be loosing power after shifting. I think it might be the head gasket, and it is loosing its pressure and that is why it is loosing power. If anyone can tell me if this is a good buy please do. its a '92 civic Hatchback cx. 135,000 miles and new axles. He has some 2003 civic si rims on it but wants to charge me like $400, is that too much? Thanks for any help.

I'm thinkin he should be cutting that price in half.. seems way to high.. especically since your going to have to take care of the head gasket.. & as far as the rims go for an extra 400 scrap that idea!

IMO.. I'm thinkin u should do a little more looking around & check out some other options..

tell him you don't want the rims for $400. He'll prob negotiate after that.

talk him down as low as you can and replace the motor. As far as I'm concerned, the only maintenance worth doing on the 8v cx motor is pulling the fukker out. If youre on a budget, a d16z6 would make the car peppy, and only set you back a few hundred bucks if you shop around.

deff go d16z6 its cheap i have a 92 CX with a d16z6 headers cheap intake, catback non mandrel... 15.3 1/4 time. 92mph

if you wanna race it keep 13's on the front. dont go above 15's if you want speed.

I bought my '92 CX with a damaged engine (run and idles but missed and had a bad knock from the head) for $950 ($1100 after tax and title) from a used car dealership, 4 years ago! This was bone stock and about as base model as you can make a CX. Since it has new seats and if the body is free of dents and rust, I'd offer him $1500 for the car and $1800 with the wheels.

"loosing power after shifting" it's a 1.5L SOHC 8 valve engine that made 70hp when it rolled off the assembly line, it's not losing power, it had none to begin with.
