For what reason would you possibly want to remove your rev limiter?

If you're done some serious tuning to your engine, and want to have your car tuned, yes a hondata would be awsome.

if you just want a coverall cheap way to remove it, go on ebay and buy a chipped ECU - much cheaper that way. Although I think no rev limiter would be STUPID

Most people just move the rev limit up to take advantage of the power band from aftermarket cams. Personally, I wouldn't ever remove a rev limiter completely.

I hope you've replaced your valve springs already. Moving the rev limiter without upgrading valve springs is a great recipe for valve float, burnt valves, crashed valves, or worse. But you didn't specify why you're considering this, or anything else about your car, so I'll just go back to lurking and keep my mouth shut.

Unless you've done some serious work your car would already be past peak HP at the stock rev limit. Going further wouldn't help, and is very risky.

so to sum up this thread.....only push your rev limiter as far as you need it to go while still making power...it is pointless to rev out to 11k if you stop making power at 8k....

You have a rev limiter for three reasons.

1) It keeps the engine running within it's mechanical limits.
2) It keeps the engine from running far outside it's powerband (you make NO extra power above the limiter on a stock engine, in fact the power drops off fast)
3) It keeps idiots from blowing up their engines.
