Default Sway Bar Install Help

I have a 92 Civic CX Hatch, i just bought 92-95 civic 21mm oem front sway bar, and a oem 13mm rear sway bar cheap off ebay, so i figured not bad for a easy upgrade, i bought poly front and rear bushings, and poly front end link kit which comes with washers and bolts.

How the Heck do i install the front?
i dont mind drilling, but i dont have extra money to get SI or EX LCA(lower control arms) i have found adiquite rear install instructions and it seems easy with maybe 4 holes to drill. let me know if i am missing something.

Thanks!

I wouldn't drill the LCAs. In fact, in the front, I don't think theres even room to drill them in the right spot. The last thing you need is to compromise the structural integrity of your suspension components... hit a curb and they're liable to break.

I'd just pony up the dough for the appropriate LCAs. Any 94+ teg ones will work, also Si, EX will work up front (and in back, depending on if the EX came w/ a rear bar).

Thats not true at all. The OEM ones w/ the holes are cast in a different shape, not just drilled versions of the non-sway ones. Take a close look at both, and you'll find they're different shapes/castings. The stock front LCA doesn't even have enough material in the right spot to drill if you wanted to. Drilling through the OEM casting will create critical weak points in the control arm. Do it right.

Both front and rear are different castings. The rear has a little more material there though.

What I'm trying to tell you is DO NOT DO IT. If you do, the swaybars may not work right, and more importantly, your LCAs will be predisposed to failure. Not saying it *will* happen, but its a heck of a lot more likely. Just save up and get the right LCAs.

:edit: the junkyard is a great place to look. If you can't find them there, check online. Places like HAP and the F/S forums of honda-acura.net and honda-tech.com whould have them. Just avoid new ones from the dealership

Yep, if you don't have a stock front sway bars your can't add them to the stock front LCA's, the hole and the material the hole is located in is just plain missing. I would try local wrecking yards, you'll most likely stumble across an old civic you can grab the parts off of. I used GS-R stuff on my '92 CX but any front swaybar equiped civic has the right LCA's. As for the rear, you'll need those that came with stock rear sway bar. I don't know of many civics that do and locating just a set of rear LCA's can be tough.
