Default tire opinions

i am trying to decide on a new set of tires. The are going on 17 5zigen
FN01R-C. I have a 95 civic coupe with a B18C and Im putting my turbo set up on this weekend, so i want some tires that grip pretty good but are not rediculously expensive. I wanted to get the falken azenis but they are not made in the size that i need. So i am deciding between the Prada spec-2, nitto NEO-GEN (havent heard anything about them), or any other tire suggested to me. I am looking to spend around 100 give or take per tire.

also, would 215/40/17 fit or would they rub like crazy? my car is lowered 2 1/2 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back. thanks for any help given guys.

i would of opt to go with 16s with 205/45-16s. 17s on a civic is big imo. some good tires to try out is yokohama es100s excellent dry/wet traction.

Kuhmo MX's? I some sumitomo HTR 2's that I like pretty well and they were cheap, good all around performance, but not at the level of a Azien.

Prada is not a performance tire. I'd look into either Kumho (712's are ok, MX are better) or Yokohama AVS ES100.

i just put on Yokohama AVS es100s...the only downside so far is road noise...if you dont care about that, then they are very impressive

I'd definitely go with the Neo Gens in a 205/40/ZR17. I have that tire size in a Falken and it seems to work alright. Only problem is rubbing when taking corners over bumps. My car is lowered probably about the same as yours on coilovers with no camber kit so my tires are shot after about a year. The neo gens are made to wear evenly, even with negative camber. I need a set bad...

I would not trust anything from Nitto. Not the best tires in the world.

If you are looking for traction:

Kumho MXs are doing great at National autocross events
Yokohama ES100s are pretty good
Toyo T1S are great tires in the dry and wet
