Default Whats A Good Tire, But Cheap??

HEY ALL,

My 'Lude's got about 71K now and the original RE92 Bridgestones have just about worn out. My problem is, I probably need new tires, but I plan on getting a new car in 6 to 9 months. What's a cheap but still decent tire to get for the Prelude? Current tire is 205/50 x 16 RE92's. Will 215/50 tires fit on the Prelude rims???Some might say, since the RE92's served me so well, get another set. Well, they are a little too expensive, Tire Rack's got them for $132. If I'm going to get rid of the car soon, I'd rather get as much money as possible for a down payment rather than spend a lot of money on tire (or maintenance) that I will not be able to recover when I trade in the car.

kumho ecsta 712 are the best bang for the buck. 84$ for 45 series on 17s.

They dont grip very well through turns though.

get some bridgestone potenza 730s or 950s at least. (or go big and ger s-03s) :naughty:

Thanks for the replies guys. I've been looking over at tirerack.com and they really don't have too big a selection in the Prelude's size. Where would I get the Kumo or Falken tires? Is there another on-line site like tirerack???

Thanks

Here we go again with the "bang for the buck" crap.

You'd be a fool to choose CRAPSTA 712s over ES100s for the same money.

i'm telling ya, my 712s suck. they dont grip for shit. i usually run potenza 730s, but i tried a cheap tire for once. I HATE 'em.

dont go cheap on what your life is riding on. You can seriously limit the fun, thrill, and safty of you car if you crap out on the tires.
