If I were building a N/A engine, I would build the H22.

By the way. To get in the 12s or 13s N/A, you will have to spend a good chunk of cash.

 

i was in no way saying i expect 12's.... or 13's for that matter from jus the swap. That is my goal for the civic. that won't be for awhile. i expect 14's with a b18 swap.

if you plan to run the car in a straight line most of the time...do the C1 and boost.


if you plan to road race that on a track course...the all mighty Type R motor is the fun way to go. putting some Toda Cams and valvetrain in the Type R will give you a nice flat torque and power curve for the track.

 

Have you done the H22A swap into a 5th Gen? From my experience, it's the biggest PITA ever. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The motor doesn't sit in the engine bay correctly, the weight is distributed incorrectly. Maintenance in that thing is difficult. Say you want to change out the clutch, guess what? You gotta pull the whole motor. With a B-Series, all you have to do is drop the transmission. I would HIGHLY recommend the C5 over the H22 to anyone.

 

I disagree. There's a shop owner about an hour from me that does my hondata tuning and he has an H22/EG. He says there's no weight problems, engine sitting funny problems or anything. It's his poke around town car and he just decided to slap an H22 in there. h:

We used Place Racing mounts as well and Uberdata...Best run so far is a 14.0. I'm not trying to argue with you, but from my experience the H22 with the mounts sits too far back, and it leans back. The TPS sensor is almost touching the brake lines. You can tell that motor is rocked back too far compared to the B-Series swaps. I'll try to dig up some pictures. You have your opinion and I have mine.
