Default Check CEL

alright guys maybe you can help me out on this one. i was tryin to find out teh code for CEL light to determine what sensor was causing it to come on. I pretty much did what c-speedracing said in their write up. I located the plugs within a green rubber casing and stuck a paperclip in the correct one. except the problem is when i turn the key to the IGN position, the CEL stays on and doesnt flash. what does this mean? what should i do?

sounds to me like maybe your paperclip isn't connecting both of the wires together. Also, you are using the connector with only 2 wires on it right?

when i insert the paperclip, the check engine light turns on, so there is a contact between teh two wires. and as far as the one with two wires, there are two to choose from, both are wrapped with teh same green rubber encasing and both have two wires. None are blue but one is smaller than the other.
