Default "Skunk2" engine... WTF?

I had a word with a guy at work last night and he was saying one of his buddy's just got a Skunk2 engine put in his civic. I told him I have never heard of Skunk2 making an engine, and asked him what the code was. He said he couldn't remember, but it came out of a Prelude, so I asked if it was a H22 and he told me that was it, but usually people call it a Skunk2 engine. Now, I'm pretty damn sure an h22 is not commonly referred to as a Skunk2 engine, but, being the noob that I am, I figgured I would check it out here.

He probably wanted to show off that he knew something about cars. Skunk2 is manufacturer of parts. It could possibly be that the H22 has some skunk2 parts. But H22's are not refered to as skunk2 engines

There are Skunk2 ITR motors. Are you sure there aren't Skunk2 H22 motors?

I mean, it'd only make sense.

if it is a skunk2 engine, it's probably just an oem block redone and rebuilt by skunk2.

love to see pictures of it, and but from the outside probably looks like any other honda block.

I have never seen a Skunk2 ITR motor, but you really can't tell a Spoon ITR motor from any other one w/a yellow cover on it.

The Preludes like the '92 VTEC were very unpopular in Japan, and the usual "big names" didn't work on them very much.

I remember seeing Ichisima driving one, but I don't believe it was his own car. I seem to recollect that it was a Skunk tuner car.
