well if it was shipped to you, then it is already prepped to sit around for a while...I mite take out the plugs and spray in some wd-40 to keep the cylinder walls lubricated...but other than that the company you bought it from has it about as cleaned out as you are gonna get it

Usually when they are shipped they are just wrapped in a plastic thin cover.

you can get an engine cover that is sealed to help keep it in the state it was when first stored.

if it's only a few months you shouldn't have to worry about anything.

as long as it's covered.

i had mine in the backyard, i just had it well covered to keep rain away.

I ment when they are shipped they are already drained and such...so you dont really need to worry about gas lines gunkin up or injectors...etc......plus I am sure your motor has been sitting in a wharehouse somewhere and a couple more months cant hurt it.

If your keeping it inside I wouldn't worry about it for a just a couple months. Storing it outside is a lot worse, as the temperature swings from daytime to nightime temps it will build up moisture inside. So you'd want to keep it well lubricated. Some people fill the engine completly with oil to keep the valvetrain from rusting.
