Advantage: Instant power.

Disadvantage: Expensive to upgrade, limited top end power, limited maximum possible power.

:werd: You hit the nail on the head...this is exactly why I chose s/c over turbo. One guy at work has a turbo'd Civic, and when I ride with him, I notice how power takes a second to come on after you mash the pedal (of course, his car has much better top end hp). I just like the instant low-rpm pull and the general "feel" of the s/c.
Please note: in NO WAY am I trying to say s/c is better than turbo or vice versa. Both are great, both are durable; just depends on your tastes .

I would be weary of Jackson Racing as I read a horror story not too long ago about someone who had difficulties with their unit and tried to get a replacement with JR only to find out that JR doesn't even handle that and that everything is handled through Moss or something like that. Be forewarned and good luck.

If you're still running stock exhaust mani, that's your biggest bottleneck right now.

doesnt the blower come with the intake runners on it? if you upgrade the fuel pump shouldnt you up the injectors as well? not trying to be a smart ass, just asking. also, they say kamakazi headers make the most hp with a blown motor. i think it has something to do with the stepped design.

Yeah, I read that one too. The author's name is Marc Barth. I think (and hope) his experience was an isolated incident. After carefully analyzing his report, I think he might have overtightened the s/c drive belt (leading to the nose bearing failure). Since I do all the work myself, I won't have to "ship it" anywhere if something goes wrong; I can just order the parts and repair the unit myself .

That's what I was planning to do at first. Then I came up short on cash and decided to just follow JR's advice and leave the stock injectors in, as the technician said. Haven't had any problems with the rich/lean thing, but I agree that it would be good to do this especially when you upgrade the intake and t-body .
