Default Short ram

Yeah well with my new found inspiredness (is that a word?) i am going to go to a local ricer stop and get me one of those cheap ass short rams for like 30 bucks. should i go ahead and get a k&n cone to go with it? i don't think they come with k&n so i'll just have to wait. i'll come back latter with some pics.

yea, a CAI will end up being much better for your $, sucking in hot air dosent do too much. if your running on a budget just get the ricer CAI instead of ram, just be sure to get a bypass valve unless your really confident in not getting any hydrolock

well its to late now. i already got the short ram. i tried to take off my front bumper to see if i could install a cai but 2 bolts wouldn't come off. Now i have another problem... that little black wire hose thing that comes out of the intake tube, does it need to be pluged in?

I wouldn't worry about that. You have to totally submerge that filter before it starts to suck up water. If you want a piece of mind, however, they're only $40.

Don't need to. Rip out the resonator and run it thru the opening above passenger fender. Hmmm ... if you wanna do some testing, since you bought a cheap ram air, buy a cheap cai later on and get them both dynoed. Check the results. It'd be interesting. That "black wire hose thing" should be what's plugging into the valve cover, no? It's not necessary.

I didnt think you could get the resonator out, i thought you had to pull it out from under neath? this black hole at the bottom left is the top of the resonator and it looks like no way to get it out

take off the wheel and wheel well (only like 8 screws) and you have full access to rip it out. It's much easier than removing the fender.
