I am sorry you think I am an idiot who doesn't know what the hell I am doing, I came asking for help and instead I get treated like crap.
It's because of this post:
Tire Rack Heat Cycled Them already.
Apparently you think heat cycling by Tire Rack and heat cycling them driving on the street are both the same thing. One is good for the tires the other is bad.

I wouldn't run them on the street for another reason. A friend of mine like to drive from his house to the event (10 miles one way) in his Corvette Z06. On the way home it started to pour and guess what happened to his vette? He smashed it to smitherines! First drop of rain he hydorplaned into a tree on the highway.

Easy, Laddy Boy. You need to accept the responsibility that YOU were not clear about your particular question and why you were asking it. We are trying to helpful, and that means we'll try to influence you NOT to do something stupid or dangerous -- running R tires on the street can be both!

To answer your question, and from what I understand, you will get about 2k-4k miles out of your R tires if you run them on the street.

Happy?

are you planning on using the r-compounds for any type of competition? if not, i'd just sell them for like $500, make a profit and buy some street tires for $300....but that's just me...

$500 tires lasting MAYBE one summer

$300 tires lasting like 4 summers lol

Yes I regularly autocross. I race in the SM class where R-compounds are a necessity. As regards the heat cycling comment. You can accomplish heat cycling by driving on the street for a few miles and letting the tires cool down.

So yes I will use them for competition and yes I know they will wear out on the street. I paid $600 total for the wheels and tires, why not just use up the tires I got for only $200.

Yes you can heat cycle tires by driving them on the street ONCE. But you plan on driving on the street with your R compounds all the time which HEAT CYCLES them TOO MUCH and makes the rubber rock hard in a week or so.

Because that's $200 that you basically are just planning on wasting. Why not mount them on other wheels or store them until you need them for autocross?
