When I was a freshman these dudes set up a stand across the street from my dorm where you got a free Girls Gone Wild video and a tshirt if you filled out like 10 credit card applications. I got approved for like 5 of em.

Get yer hands on a bunch of applications and send em in. Eventually you'll get approved. Just be careful to not spend money that you don't actually have or aren't going to have before the billing cycle is over. Balances that you can't pay very quickly multiply themselves. I know this from experience. Credit card debt sucks.

Best idea is to fill out the one on campus use that one for a while and establish some credit and then you will see credit card apps coming in the mail very damn day. Also try getting a gas card also they are easy to get but be very very careful cause most of them require you to pay off the entire balance at the end of each monthly cycle, but it is a good way to get get a good credit score quick.

BTW Bofa is the hardest bank to get a credit card from trust me I worked there for 5 years and saw people with good credit scores and high bank balances get denied.

I got approved by Citibank my first month of my first year of college. No money, no job, nothing. They started me with a $1000 limit too. Now it's at $2850.
