I agree. I hate show cars. A car isn't a car unless you use and abuse it like it was meant to be.

 

Personally, I don't mind VWs, and there's even a few I'd like to own (W8 passat, for example), but they seem to have REALLY had taste...

And I was talking to a boyfriend of one of my friends about his VW... He has like a Golf or a GTI or something like that, and with his almighty VW 2.0 NA engine he pulls in 13.3s with 17" wheels...

I didn't feel like starting a pissing contest at a birthday party, so I just smiled and said "Wow... that's fast"

The worst offenders are the JDM showcars. I.e Ricky Chu and his S14 with S15 front end.

All the ricers bow down to him, yet, venture on any 240SX/Drifting related board, and he is the official whipping boy

I like it...but then this thread just goes to perpetuate the VW vs Honda rivalry that continues to plague this juvenile scene

 

Hmm. Can't say I hate that 240 so much. I guess I'm more willing to excuse crap like body kits and big stereos on cars that are actually fast and driveable.

Also the owner dude works at a shop right? So it's a bit of a shop car.

I should say that I hate slow show cars that don't drive well and have tool owners that actually daily drive them.

 

Up until a couple of years ago I really had no problem with the VW scene. Seems like now every "tuned" VW is dumped and has some rims with phat lip y0. What happened to the people who try and actually make the car perform better?

Just remember that I myself make no claims of being involved in the Honda scene aside from the fact that I like driving certain particular Hondas.
