I've had a compaq laptop for 6 months now and not a single problem.

Besides, Compaq = HP

Course, I'd pony up the money and get this:

http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index15.html

Fawking DVD-R, 802.11G, 800Mbps Firewire 2, USB 2.0, bluetooth, gigabit networking, 80GB HD, 9600 mobility chipset... the thing's a monster

I just spoke to my friend who works in the server side of Compaq.

He told me that he'd really not prefer a Compaq laptop.

HP has two lines of laptops...
Both have HP name, one is branded HP and made by HP, one is branded HP and made by Compaq.

The HP/HP ones usually carry the blue/grey tones.

I vote Dell too, I grabbed an Inspiron 8200 off Ebay and haven't had a single problem with it so far (about 8 months).
